Hello, My name is Ben, from Laurel, Montana and I shoot a little of everything. I have pumps, autos and over/under's. I do like pheasant hunting best for real birds, but do hunt geese occasionally as well as other upland birds.

I shoot a lot of trap and I love it. I shoot in a league and also in the ATA. My trap gun is an SKB 90HTR. I just got it near Christmas last year and didn't shoot it until around March when the local ATA season got going. It took me a little to get it dialed in and once I did I started shooting better with it. I do like it a lot, has a good amount of adjustability in it and I am shooting a 60/40, maybe 65/35 pattern with it. I hunt with mostly a Benelli SBE3 and I really like it as well. Good gun. I like shotguns, they are fun to shoot. I want to eventually start shooting sporting and 5 stand. I did try some skeet, but need way more practice with that. :-) I did have fun though.

Hello guys..I am shotgun manufacturer from Turkey..any issue you have with shotguns, you can ask me for solutions..I am very familiar especially with Turkish made ones

Hi,

I’m Tom from Ontario, Canada. Great to join the TFL community. I’m looking forward to starting with reading members intros.

I’ve been hunting and shooting since age 12, starting with deer hunting. Nearly 30 years of empty shells behind me. I got my first shotgun at age 14 from my granddad, a Veteran of WWII, 8th Reconnaissance Regiment, 14th Canadian Hussars, 2nd Canadian Infantry Division. It’s a 16 ga H&R Topper Model 48 he bought in 1946 or so. That started my passion for shotguns and shotgunning, and a small short lived collection of 16 ga single barrels.

The first shotgun I carried hunting was an SKB Ithaca Model XL900, then a Remington 1100. I Bought my first new gun in 2007 while in college, a Remington 870. That’s when I started turkey hunting. I still shoot it the best of all my guns. It’s got to be my all-time favourite.

During my university days I didn’t get to shoot much but got introduced to waterfowling. I started upland hunting in 2015. Really, just grouse when moose hunting. I started pheasant hunting in September 2019 and got my first bird dog in December 2020, a pointer, and shortly after my first double gun, a 2004 original run Browning Cynergy composite field. I put about 4500 rounds through it. In total it had about 5000 through it. I sold it to upgrade to a Cynergy Wicked Wing. Yes, I do regret letting that one go. I now carry a Yildiz Elegant A5 20 ga SxS, 26” barrels, 5.9 lbs, for the long walks.

Greetings fellow Shotgun Enthusiasts!

Shawn from Kansas City here. I am a Recovering Handgunner. For the last 30yrs, I've been all about handguns. The only shotgun I owned was a Remington 870 SuperMag. My Brother-In-Law took me TrapShooting out at the Kenmore Gun Club in Washington and I WAS HOOKED!

My BiL invited me to their annual Dove Hunt in Eastern Washington, but said I needed to come ready to shoot some birds. I came home, bought a Winchester SXP Upland Field and found a shooting coach who loved the fact that I didn't want to be a competitive clays shooter...I wanted to be an Upland bird hunter.

After a lot of stink-eye from the old guys at the gun club about my flying shells from the SXP, I traded a never fired, new in the box 1950's Cowboy Colt at a local gunstore for a vintage 1971 Remington 1100 12g. I'm sure the shop owner got the better deal...but I got utility over a cool cowboy pistol that just sat in the safe. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that shotgun...and the LPGWorks knockdown kept the stink eyes at bay while I learned the nuances of a semi-auto.

Because of my emphasis on Upland, my shooting coach was able to do all kinds of fun bird hunting drills with me. Low Gun to Mount on the Trap Field. Standing out in the middle of the 5-Stand and he gets to randomly pick targets. Sitting on a bucket Sporting Clays. All were extremely helpful in getting me ready for my first Dove hunt.

The Dove Hunt was a blast! We only harvested 45 birds...but herein lies the challenge with a middle of the week opener, and being the only folks on HUNDREDS of acres of wheat field. There were no other hunters to drive the birds around...AND...Eastern Washington had a very hot summer so they had to cut the wheat beginning of August. Weeds and sage brush had started infiltrating the fields.

I've been steadily selling handguns to fund my shotgun addiction. That Remington 870 SuperMag? I replaced the synthetic stock and forend with a laminate stock and forend, added a 28in barrel...Now I have a Wingmaster SuperMag (🀣)

Now, I'm getting ready to head out on my first Pheasant Hunt to North Dakota with my trusty A400 Upland Field and my Winchester 101 Upland (btw...if anybody knows anybody who has the Maple version and is looking to sell...reach out to me).

Until next time...

Recovering Handgunner...

I am a gun enthusiast just now getting into sporting clays and waterfowl hunting. I have competed in three gun, IDPA, and precision rifle shooting.Just enjoy the new challenges of the shotgun world.

I’m Jacob and I’m from Tucson. I never even picked up a shotgun until just recently (I’m in my 40’s). Ended up doing a couple of fundraisers that involved sporting clays. I had a blast. I was (and still am) terrible at it. But it’s so much fun and there is just something special about the feeling you get when you pull the trigger and then see that clay shatter (even if you missed the previous 10). For the past few weeks I’ve joined a league here in town which does skeet, trap, and 5-stand. All of which were a first for me. And I’m absolutely loving it. Steve I’ve watched a ton of your videos over the past couple of years and love them. My favorites are the shotgun reviews, chokes and of course the β€œHow to Shotgun” series. Keep up the great work.

Old guy getting back into Trap Shooting. I've not found a team yet so I go to my local club that holds a Derby each weekend. Hope to find a team to shoot with soon.

Hi i am Julie and the high school trap coach in Northern Minnesota. My husband and I are trap and skeet shooters.

Steve I’ve enjoyed your content since the Gould Brother days. I love anything with a shotgun. Trap, skeet, sporting clays, waterfowl hunting, upland hunting and turkey hunting. I equally love training and hunting my bird dogs. I shoot primarily shoot Benelli semi autos and Browning O/U. I am considering moving up a tier or two on my clay shotgun so I will keep watching your reviews.

Hi Steve,

Typical Nebraska childhood started with 22LR Rifle then in my mid teens got my first shotgun for hunting with Dad, Winchester 1200 I still have it. (I'm retired now) I kind of abandon shotguns in my adult years. In my 60s started shooting USPSA and Steel Challenge with rim fire and center fire pistols and rifles. About 18 months ago my shooting buddy and I started shotgunning again. Our preferred discipline is sporting clay's, we have a lot to improve on there. We also shoot skeet, 5 stand, flurry. We are also shotgunaholics. Started watching TFL about 18 moths ago Great Content!

Thinking about getting up to Alexandria for "Shotgun Fest" one of these years soon.
