We just reviewed the Mossberg Maverick SA, and this entry-level semi-auto surprised us. If you own one, how has it held up, and if you don't, would you trust an entry-level semi-auto for a full season?
Just signed up and looking for advice in my quest to special order a traditional Monte left handed the upgraded or 2023+ model.
So painful being a lefty (but right minded) and left eye dominate.... nothing available and no Canadian allocation for 2027, a big bummer!
In my mission I have contacted Stoeger and found a Canadian marketing rep here in Calgary that I'm waiting to hear back from. I really really want the updated left in classic Walnut. Not sure if the SKU 10864 for the 12 gauge 28" is pre or post 2023. My AI escaped has found only Europe has the left 2023+ in retail and no plans for bringing in the new model across the pond. Seems the north American marketing is pushing the M2 for left semi auto.
I just want a classico (that's masculine Italian eh) for ditch parrots well also those sneaky Hungarian partridge and tubby sharp-tails. Preferably without the clicky receiver....
Steve your my only hope :)
or anyone else I could marry in the Berretta family.
UPDATE: I ended up buying the a400 solo in optifade marsh. See thread for pictures!
Posted on the old forum, reposting here!!
Hey all! Looking for some real-world guidance on my next (and likely "buy-it-for-life") 12-gauge.
My use case is an all-around crossover: primarily doves, waterfowl and turkey, plus regular clays. Iβm stepping up from a Stoeger M3500 that I had years ago, so Iβve never owned or shot a dedicated gas gun before.
I've narrowed my list down to two:
Beretta A400 Solo
Franchi Affinity 3 Waterfowl Elite
Originally, I wanted to keep net cash around the $1,000 mark. But with stacked discounts, the new A400 Solo is only sitting about $200 above the Franchi Affinity 3 Elite for me, which makes it very tempting to make the jump to the B-Link gas system and Kick-Off Plus.
Two quick questions for the group:
Optifade Marsh on the A400 Solo: I love the genuine GORE OPTIFADE Marsh on the A400 Xtreme Plus in Steveβs review video, but Berettaβs stock website renders for the Solo look completely different (almost muddy/smeared). Does anyone have an A400 Solo in Optifade Marsh in hand who can post a real-world photo of the finish?
The "Last Shotgun" Verdict: Coming from an inertia gun like the Stoeger, is jumping to the A400 Solo worth the price bump over the A300 Ultima and Franchi Elite as a do-it-all shotgun for clays and hunting?
Appreciate any input or photos!
There is more to a woman's shotgun than a shorter stock. Here is what a pro looks at first, and why the fitting matters as much as the gun.
What was one takeaway from this video? I know my takeaway: Courtney needs a new shotgun...stay tuned.
I didn't know what to expect inside the Perazzi factory in Italy. Here's what I found, from barrels trued by eye to a custom MR57 stock fitting.
